Working Families Flexibility Act

The Working Families Flexibility Act provides the employee the opportunity to elect compensatory time off versus being paid overtime. The bill has stringent requirements to ensure an agreement between employee and employer exists before this option may be taken.

What is the NGCOA doing about this issue?

NGCOA supports this bill as it moves through the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee. Similar bills have been filed in the three previous sessions and failed to receive a committee vote. While the bill has 39 cosponsors, the passage in the 2019 session appears unlikely.
