16:00 - The Farm Bill
In today's episode, Michael and Ronnie turn the spotlight on what to expect from National Golf Day as well as the new developments surrounding H.R.1583, the PAR Act. Successfully filed this year, H.R. 1583 removes golf from section 144, which has been around since 1976 as an IRS code list that excludes golf from receiving governmental benefits. Also, we look into the importance of the Farm Bill, which designates turf grass, the 4th largest crop in the United States, as a specialty crop, resulting in more federal dollars towards turf grass research. To explore more about the PAR Act and the Farm Bill, we welcome special guests Jay Perron (Principal at Prism Group) and Chava McKeel (Director of Governmental Affairs, GCSAA) for their insights and analysis.
