Sell Your Worst Tee Times First

Selling your most attractive tee times, like Saturday mornings, is easy. The much bigger challenge is consistently selling your worst tee times.

Henry DeLozier, principal with Global Golf Advisors, advises course operators to do just that by focusing on the times when very few golfers want to play your course. Would people play if the fee was less? Could they be enticed with an incentive such as a free hot dog or bonus points in the golf shop? Some course operators use dynamic, or variable, pricing to move less-popular times. Others offer bonus points or rewards of some sort.

The keys to improving off-peak play are finding golfers who can play at less popular times and attracting them with on-target incentives.
