Moving pictures turn web browsers into shoppers. That’s the message from technology consultants who study the buying habits of the public.

So what kind of video should you post on your website? Here are four ideas:

• A “welcome mat.” Welcome visitors to your site and tell a little about your course and its philosophy and mission. The opening video can also provide directions to various areas of your site.

• Tips. Instructional tips from the pro or pointers on some of the newest equipment resonate with most golfers.

• Testimonials. Interview customers about their golf experience or let them talk about how they received great service at your facility.

• News. Tell your customers what to expect in the coming months in terms of maintenance, merchandise, promotions and trends that will affect their lives.

Whatever type of video you choose to post, the key is to do it consistently. Get your videos out on a regular basis and your reputation will start to build.
